Course #1 - INTRODUCTION

This two-day course introduces rehabilitation professionals to Dr. Welsh’s Tai Chi, Qigong, and Wellness Program for people with varying needs and abilities and for use in both clinical and wellness settings. This is the first course in Susan Welsh’s Therapeutic Tai Chi, Qigong, and Wellness Teacher Certification Program.

Tai Chi and Qigong benefit you, your patients, and your practice. Dr. Welsh’s Therapeutic Tai Chi, Qigong, and Wellness Program is simple, fun, easy-to-learn, safe, and evidence-based. All courses provide practice in a short 7 part Tai Chi Form, Qigong exercises, and wellness practices that focus on applications to clinical and wellness clients. Course participants leave energized, with new skills to help professionals and patients/clients feel better and move easier, with more confidence.

Course Participant Comment: “It was a very relaxing weekend of learning that left me energized and inspired.”

Benefits of Tai Chi and Qigong practice include fall prevention, improved physical functioning (better balance, strength, mobility, posture, coordination, agility, body awareness, reaction time) and better quality of life (stress resilience plus better sleep, digestion, immune and cognitive functions). Add wellness principles of fitness promotion, injury prevention and stress reduction, and you have a complete program to help you and your patients/clients live healthier, more energetic and comfortable lives!

Teacher certification is now available and includes attending 4 weekend courses plus mentoring and testing. Participants don’t need to pursue teacher certification to take courses, and all courses can be taken without first attending the Introduction course.
