Taught by Dr. Susan Welsh, PT, PhD, this 2-day course introduces simple yet powerful Tai Chi principles and movements in a way that facilitates their integration into a clinical rehab program.

Dr. Welsh focuses on how Tai Chi improves posture and core strength, including the pelvic floor. You’ll experience how Tai Chi helps with balance, strength, mobility, posture, coordination, agility, and stress resilience – good for everyone, especially people with pain, mobility issues, Parkinson’s, MS and CVA.

This course is the 4th in Wellness Therapy Institute’s Teacher Certification series. NOTE: The 4 courses in this series can be taken in any order. Teacher certification is now available and includes attending the 4 weekend courses plus mentoring and testing. Participants don’t need to pursue teacher certification to take courses, and all courses can be taken without first attending the Introduction course.

What The Harvard Medical School Guide to Tai Chi says:

“Tai Chi is … associated with improved joint proprioception … Tai Chi practitioners had a better sense of the position of their ankle and knee joints in space, and were more sensitive to small movements of their joints … Tai Chi may give you more accurate, quicker feedback for balance and posture, which could help prevent falling.” (P. 118)
